About The CRC Toolkit

An independent educational resource for Clinical Research Coordinators, site managers, research nurses, and clinical research professionals at every career stage.

The CRC Toolkit is a free, independent reference site for Clinical Research Coordinators and the broader site-research workforce. Every article cites official primary sources — FDA guidance documents, ICH guidelines, NIH/OHRP resources, and federal regulations. Every calculator is built for the specific compliance calculations site staff perform daily. Everything is free.

About the Author

The CRC Toolkit is written and maintained by a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) with a Master of Science in Molecular Biotechnology and an MBA in Healthcare Administration — a combination that informs both the regulatory-compliance content (the CCRC and life-sciences training) and the career, operations, and business-of-research analyses on the site (the healthcare-administration training). Author credentials and contact policy are handled through the Contact and Disclaimer pages; we keep author identification minimal here intentionally so the site stands on the strength of its citations rather than on any individual's professional reputation.

All content is researched and written against primary regulatory text — 21 CFR, ICH E6(R3) and related guidelines, FDA guidance documents, NIH and OHRP resources. Nothing is published without verification against the source.

What This Site Is

The CRC Toolkit exists because the clinical research coordination profession is underserved by free, high-quality, regulation-grounded resources. The calculators handle the specific compliance math that CRCs perform repeatedly — IP accountability percentages, visit window deadlines, creatinine clearance for eligibility calculations, date arithmetic for reporting timelines. The articles cover the regulatory framework in the depth that working CRCs and certification candidates need: not summaries, but full explanations grounded in the actual regulatory text.

The site is editorially independent. Content decisions are based on what is useful and accurate. Some pages include Amazon affiliate links for products commonly used in clinical research settings; this is disclosed on every page where affiliate links appear and in the Privacy & Disclosures page.

What This Site Is Not

The CRC Toolkit is not a substitute for your sponsor's protocol, your site's SOPs, or your institution's regulatory guidance. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the FDA, EMA, ICH, NIH, ACRP, SOCRA, or any other regulatory authority, government agency, or professional society. Nothing on this site constitutes medical, legal, or regulatory advice. All calculators are data-entry aids — every output must be independently verified against your protocol and the applicable regulations.
